Telemedicine

YOU CAN NOW SEE A DOCTOR IN THE COMFORT OF YOUR OWN HOME!

Desoto & Senatobia Childrens Clinics are now providing telemedicine visits for our patients to ensure they can access care whenever they need to.  It’s the 21st Century House Call – all you need is a phone and/or tablet or computer.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact patients’ ability to travel freely, we want to ensure that our communities have affordable and accessible healthcare options when they need it.

Our provider team can consult patients, provide referrals, refill prescriptions, evaluate injuries, diagnose symptoms and recommend coordinated care all through telemedicine. All our patients need is audio and video capabilities to get the care they need. If you have any questions, please call our provider team at any of our clinics.  Below, we’ve gone in to greater detail to explain what telemedicine is, the services we can provide via telemedicine and why patients don’t have to delay care during this global healthcare crisis.

What is Telemedicine?

Telemedicine is defined as the practice of using technology to deliver medical advice from a distance. Patients can connect to providers through a dedicated portal, with an internet connection and computer with audio/video capabilities. Our team can then provide a variety of urgent care services, treatment recommendations and other crucial services through digital means.

How does it work at Desoto & Senatobia Childrens Clinics?

The process for a telemedicine visit during office hours are as such:

1) patient calls one of our clinics for a telemed visit

2) patient is scheduled for that visit

3) patient is called by the Medical Assistant prior to the visit to triage and also to confirm times

4) patient is called by the doctor (if phone only) on the number verified by the Medical Assistant

OR

the patient is sent a text message or email from the doctor containing a secure link (for video) to the number or email verified by the Medical Assistant

Patients now have an efficient and effective way to get the care they need, all from the comfort of home. If you’re curious about insurances accepted for telemedicine, please ask our clinic coordinator. Phone numbers and addresses for each of our clinics are below.
